The City of Pilsen and the University of West Bohemia signed a cooperation memorandum on 1 October 2026 for the proposed public Plavecký bazén Plzeň – Bory near the university campus. They agreed to share information while preparing permits and designs and to protect the NTIS research centre from noise and vibration.
The city’s concept includes a 25-metre indoor pool, outdoor pools and leisure areas, eventually replacing the ageing Kozinova Street pool. The city still needs to seek funding and prepare further documents. The memorandum is not a construction start, and no opening date has been announced.
