From 1 October 2026, the Czech state social assistance benefit known as superdávka will be calculated under revised rules. In its 24 September announcement, the Labour Office said single parents caring for a child under 15 will be included among vulnerable households; the previous age limit was seven. This may improve how eligible housing costs are taken into account in some cases, but does not promise a higher benefit for everyone.
Housing cost norms will be set by district rather than by three municipality-size groups. The subsistence minimum for a single adult will rise from CZK 4,860 to CZK 5,500; the amounts for children will not change. Each household’s final benefit will still depend on its individual circumstances.
Current recipients do not need to file a new application solely because of these changes. The routine October review will require proof of income and paid housing costs for July–September 2026, plus any other relevant changes. The Labour Office recommends submitting documents through the Jenda client portal, where applicants can track their submission.
