The City of Pilsen announced on 8 October that it will replace traffic-signal technology at nine junctions by the end of 2026. The project includes new controllers, LED lights and equipment for adaptive signal control and priority passage for emergency vehicles. Work will take place at several locations at once. The city expects traffic to be affected only briefly when each controller is replaced; it has not published junction-specific closure dates.
The junctions are Americká – Anglické nábřeží; Jízdecká – Pobřežní; O. Beníškové – Malická; O. Beníškové – Lochotínská; Lobezská – Sladkovského; Koterovská – HZS; Lobezská – Železniční; Doudlevecká – Cukrovarská; and Sukova – Čermákova/Družstevní. If your route crosses these areas, check current travel information before setting off. The project budget is CZK 26.67 million including VAT. This announcement is about planned upgrades, not a notice of a current road closure. The cover is a conceptual AI illustration, not a photograph of an actual junction.
