Prague has announced that it will hold the UNESCO–UIA World Capital of Architecture title in 2029–2032. According to the municipal announcement, the period will culminate in the UIA World Congress of Architects and UIA General Assembly in Prague in 2032.
The city is preparing a multi-year programme on architecture, urbanism, cultural heritage, public space and quality of life. It plans to involve professionals, schools, cultural institutions, municipal districts and residents. Obec architektů is the city’s key partner.
For residents this concerns a future public and educational city programme, and for the architectural community international professional exchange. The announcement does not provide dates of individual events, registration conditions or approved construction projects.
