The Czech Ministry of Transport reported on 8 October that it received 656,781 applications for Czech driving licences from January through September 2026. Of those, 147,026, or more than 22%, were submitted through the Transport Portal. The ministry compares this with an 18% online share in 2025. These are nationwide application figures, not a Pilsen rate or a change in the law.
Where the service is available to them, applicants can use the official Portál dopravy to review prefilled details and choose how to receive the licence. The ministry lists Bank ID, the eGovernment mobile key and eObčanka as login methods; collection at an office remains an option. Check the portal for the requirements and options for your own application. Reading English does not establish nationality or eligibility.
