Pilsen announced on 13 October that Vodárna Plzeň will replace over 200 metres of water pipes on Malostranská, in front of Škoda sport park. Work is planned to start in mid-October and finish during November, addressing deteriorated pipes and repeated failures.
The work covers almost 105 metres of DN 400 pipe and over 102 metres of DN 600. These are gravity mains from the Homolka reservoir in the network supplying the city centre, Roudná, Petrohrad and parts of other districts. The estimated cost is almost CZK 12 million excluding VAT.
Work will be coordinated with the sports park. The city notice does not give a water-shutoff schedule or announce a road closure. It does not mean every district listed will lose water. The cover is a conceptual AI illustration, not a photograph of these works.
