Prague’s council has selected contractors for geotechnical monitoring and building condition surveys ahead of completion of the Městský okruh inner ring road. The two contract sections total almost CZK 359 million including VAT.
About CZK 126.3 million is allocated to Pelc/Tyrolka–U Kříže and roughly CZK 232.6 million to Balabenka–Rybníčky. The work relates to exploratory galleries for the future Bílá skála, Jarovský and Malešický tunnels.
Contractors will monitor ground and groundwater behaviour and document buildings before and after excavation of the exploratory galleries. Some groundwater monitoring is to continue until main tunnel construction starts, for at most five years after the galleries are completed.
Funding is planned from the city budget in 2027–2029. This is preparatory work: deputy mayor Jaromír Beránek gave an outlook of around 2029 for the main construction start; the announcement does not provide a precise approved timetable.
