In September, the Commission proposed the EU KIDS Act as a European approach to protecting children in digital services. It envisages independent social-media accounts from 15 and access supervised by legal guardians for children aged 13–14.
Other proposed measures include limits on addictive design, private profiles for minors by default and privacy-preserving age checks. Video platforms, online games and chatbots serving minors are also covered.
This is a significant policy direction for families and schools in Czechia. The official article describes submission to Parliament and the Council for legislative consideration; it does not establish that these age limits have already become effective rules.
