Estonian hospitals are testing AI tools that turn patient conversations into text and prepare summaries, ČT24 reports in a translated ERR article. Confido already uses the technology in several departments, while Narva hospital is seeking a system through public procurement.
According to the report, Tartu University Hospital began a three-month emergency-department trial in mid-October. Narva’s procurement conditions require a healthcare professional to check and approve AI-generated text before it enters patient records; final decisions remain with doctors.
According to the institutions quoted in the article, patients at Confido and in the Tartu pilot can decline use of the tool. These examples illustrate oversight and privacy issues in healthcare digitisation. They do not establish that the same service or procedure has been introduced in Czechia.
