Plzeň Zoo opened its Waharoa exhibit on 22 October 2026; the city announced it on 23 October. The complex comprises several aviaries and small pavilions near the Tropical Pavilion.
Birds include a pair of nocturnal, flightless brown kiwi and kea parrots, which the zoo has kept since 2012. The city also lists kagu from New Caledonia, tawny frogmouths, megapodes and boobook owls.
A carved Māori gateway marks the entrance, while educational displays explain the region’s plants and animals. The announcement sets no separate admission price or special opening hours for this exhibit and does not imply free admission.
