The first two completed platforms at Praha-Smíchov railway station will open on Tuesday, 20 October. Czechia’s Transport Ministry published the railway infrastructure authority’s announcement on 19 October. Passengers will reach the platforms through the refurbished underpass.
One platform has been rebuilt and the other is new, intended mainly for trains over the Prague Semmering route to Zličín and Hostivice. Work will move to two platforms closer to the station building. Check your train’s platform on station displays and with the operator.
This is a partial opening: the station reconstruction is scheduled to finish at the end of 2028. The future bus terminal and the complete step-free pedestrian connection are not opening yet. Travellers using the station, including those arriving from Pilsen, should follow the current signs while construction continues.
